The Role Software Engineers at Palantir build software at scale to transform how organizations around the world use data. As a Defense Tech Software Engineer Intern, you’ll have an opportunity to grow more quickly than you ever envisioned, as you contribute high-quality code directly to Palantir's Gotham product. Palantir's defense product vertical builds mission-critical products for the modern warfighter, enabling them to securely integrate and visualize their data, perform rich analyses, and build sophisticated, full-fledged programs such as common operating pictures, alert-triaging inboxes, and resource allocation planning tools driven by rich-ML models. Our customers use our defense offering to drive core operations within their organizations - these programs are relied upon for daily operations in the command centers and battlefronts of militaries across the world. Palantir's Product Development organization is made up of small teams of Software Engineers, each focusing on a specific aspect of a product. For example, you might join a team that builds geospatial mapping tools for mission critical operations, or a component of the Gotham release infrastructure. We encourage communication and collaboration among teams to share context, skills, and experience, so you'll learn about many different aspects of each product. Core Responsibilities As a Defense Tech Intern - you will be supporting work specifically focusing on delivering our Palantir Defense capabilities to our most critical mission partners. What We Value: Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of individuals, including engineers, users and non-technical team members. Willingness to learn and make decisions independently, and the ability to ask questions when needed. What We Require: Engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, and Physics. Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools. Active US Security clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain a US Security clearance prior to start of internship. Experience coding in programming languages, such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages. Must be planning on graduating in 2028.
