We are a growing team of practicing MDs, AI scientists, PhDs, creatives, technologists, and engineers working together to empower people and make care make more sense. We have offices located in the Mission District in San Francisco, the SoHo neighborhood of New York, and East Liberty in Pittsburgh. THE ROLE We're looking for Software Engineering Interns to join Abridge's Engineering team for a 3-month internship program in Fall 2026, with the possibility of extension. You'll collaborate with our engineering team to build and ship real-world features that translate cutting-edge language model capabilities into dependable clinical systems. With mentorship and guidance, you'll gain hands-on experience designing, coding, and releasing AI-powered software that makes a meaningful impact on clinicians' workflows. What You'll Do - Design and build end-to-end features, enhancing our existing systems and contributing to agentic LLM workflows (retrieval pipelines, structured tool use, chained LLM calls) - Fix user-facing bugs and issues, and make quality-of-life improvements across our backend and frontend systems - Get hands-on with evaluation frameworks that measure accuracy, robustness, and clinical reliabilit
