Field Engineer

ROLE OVERVIEW: As a Field Engineer, you are the technical engine of a customer-facing pod, partnering closely with an Account Executive and BDR to drive successful evaluations, onboarding, and expansion for Materialize customers. You own the technical relationship from discovery through production and beyond. This is a hybrid pre-sales and post-sales role. You’ll spend the majority of your time working directly with customers running discovery, demos, and POVs, and guiding customers into production, while also contributing to repeatable assets that help scale the Field Engineering function. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with customers, thrives in technical ambiguity, and wants to help define how a category-defining infrastructure product is evaluated and adopted. Our Field Engineers are based in our NYC office near Astor Place, with an expectation of at least 3 days per week in person. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Lead technical discovery conversations and assess use case fit using Materialize’s qualification frameworks - Design and deliver tailored demos and time-boxed POVs with clear success criteria - Explain Materialize’s architecture and positioning relative to alternatives such as Flink,
